We travel to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN area all of the time. It’s less than two hours from our house, and there is plenty to do there. I always joke and say that it’s Myrtle Beach with mountains instead of the ocean. They have many of the same attractions as Myrtle Beach and other places like that. I am not a huge fan of all of that stimulation and traffic, but our boys think it’s great. And watching them think it’s great makes all of the noise and chaos totally worth it.
We have season passes to Dollywood which I have to admit is one of the best amusement parks I have ever been to. It’s shaded in the mountains of Tennessee so it’s never extremely hot. The folks who work there are very sweet and helpful. Their shows are outstanding, and they have a significant amount of rides for young kids. Below is a picture of us being silly on the Ferris wheel the last time we were there.
Every time we drive into Pigeon Forge on our way to Dollywood, the boys point out the Hollywood Wax Museum which does look amazingly cool, especially in the eyes of a six-year old and a three-year old. There’s an enormous great ape hanging off the side of the building, for goodness sake. Brooks really, really wants to visit a wax museum, so hopefully a trip to Pigeon Forge is in our near future.
As a blogger, I work with US Family Guide to promote family-friendly attractions and locations across the country. Right now, they’re promoting all of the Hollywood Wax Museums and are offering a promotional offer.
