Somewhere along the way, from then to now, we got lost. Mass production became alluring, preservatives and additives extended the shelf-life of foods, technology and speedy transportation allowed for the shipment of foods long distances, and as often happens, the all mighty dollar won out, and people did what it took to make more money.
Luckily, we’ve come to our senses, and all over our nation, individuals, groups, companies, and businesses are embracing the farm-t0-table mentality. Every year, more and more folks realize the astounding benefits to our bodies, our soil, our communities, and the local economy by eating locally-produced, farm-fresh products.
As I’ve mentioned before, I adore the small town in which I live. It’s quaint, peaceful, and relaxing; yet, the people are compassionate, progressive, and driven, in all the right ways.
“Participating “Farm to Table” partners create specialty menu items.

This is my kind of eating, so my family had a culinary blast this weekend. We crawled all over town and entered a total of three times. Thursday, the boys, my mom, and I dined at Frog’s Leap Public House. Saturday morning, while Daddy was at a training, the boys and I visited our local Farmers Market where we watched live cooking demonstrations and participated in a taste test. Then Sunday, the family headed to City Bakery for lunch after church.
