Happy Tuesday, friends! The sun is shining where I live and it’s a bright spring day. I hope you’re experiencing the same. I’d planned to post this last Friday on March 31 but then my computer acquired the cyber equivalent of mono and it took Staples four days to heal it and restore everything back to proper health. But March was a very full month so I still wanted to highlight 10 special moments even though we’re already well into the first week of April. Thank you for being patient with me. Here goes!
). Dr. Seuss’s Birthday: Case and his two best buddies picked three popular Seuss characters for this fun day of dress up.
). Essential Oil Classes: Starting in December, I organically transitioned from being a Young Living product user to a business person. I’ve fallen so in love with the oils, I want to share their awesomeness with everyone I know. Whether it was other members of my team or myself, March was full of essential oil education. If you’re curious about the world of essential oils, you should follow my Instagram page that focuses on health and wellness through the oils. The username is @susannalivingyoung.
). Soccer: Brooks tried out soccer when he was four and five but just didn’t click with it. It may be different for little brother Case. Soccer started in March, and he’s still loving it.
). Snow: We had an extremely mild winter with barely any snow, then all of a sudden, a surprise snow arrived in March. I was already kind of in spring mode, but it’s always nice to see the white stuff fall from the sky.
). Mountaineer 2 Miler: As someone who was a runner for a long time and ran a lot of races, it had been entirely too long since my feet hit the pavement. So in March, Brooks and I decided to run a two-mile run hosted by the middle school where I used to work and the one he will attend in several years. I won’t lie. It was pretty rough and I’m definitely out of shape, but we still had a blast.
). Yoga: Can I just say how much I love yoga? I have no idea why I don’t do it more often. A good friend of mine invited me to a yoga class one Wednesday in March. The studio’s nestled a cool side street in downtown Asheville. The teacher and the class were both simply wonderful. It reminded me why I love it and that I need to partake more often.
). Chick-fil-A Spirit Night: I’m part of the PTA at my older child’s school and in March, we partnered with Chick-fil-A to host a Spirit Night. It was fun hanging out the with the cows all evening and again, I want to say thank you for everyone who came out to support the school.
). Final Swim Events: Brooks had such a great first year of swim. We feel so fortunate that a renowned, competitive swim team is in our small little town. In March, he participated in a Swim-a-Thon and also competed in the final meet of the season during which he placed in several events.
). Des Moines: Toward the end of March, one of my best friends and I traveled to her hometown of Des Moines to visit with her sister and see our favorite band, The Lumineers. In fact, I wrote my most recent newspaper column. If you want to hear more about my first experience in Iowa, you should check out the column. It was such a fun trip!
). Missing Maddie: My sister always sends pics of my nieces. This was one of my favorites of Maddie from March. Little ones grow so fast when they’re this little and I feel like I’m missing out. I really need to see her little face in person. Very soon.
There you have it, a view of last month in pictures. I hope your March held some highlights for you and April offers new adventures. I’ll tell you one thing, I’m ready for spring in full-force. I need a lot of sunshine these days, so here’s to brighter and sunnier days, my friends.
